Vice-Chancellor Yogesh Singh announced the most awaited admission policy for undergraduate admission to DU colleges on Tuesday. Singh, explaining the admission policy, said that candidates will have to appear in CUET 2022 only in those subjects which they have studied in Class 12. The merit will be calculated on the basis of the combination of the subjects that the student appeared in. “There will be no disadvantage to anyone on changing the stream,” Singh assured through an official statement.

Admission to most of the BSc courses will be calculated on the basis of physics, chemistry, mathematics or biology. Merit for this will be calculated on the basis of marks obtained in the chosen language, mathematics and any two other domain-specific subjects. Best score will be considered for admission in DU.

Allahabad University

“We have been conducting national-level entrance exams for our courses before CUET 2022 came into picture, therefore, it is not a big change for us. Like before, we are planning to conduct online counselling for students wherein every process will be done entirely except for verification of documents,” said K Tharanikkarasu, controller of examination, Pondicherry University.

Hyderabad University

Like PU, Hyderabad University which offers only integrated programmes is yet to finalise its admission policy. The admission criteria, according to Vice-Chancellor, B.J. Rao have been communicated to the NTA. “ We have been in talks with the NTA to decide our admission criteria. At the moment we are trying to bring our five-year integrated course at par with the UGC’s four-year undergraduate programme policy. The first three years of an integrated course are considered UG but now it has to follow a ‘4+1 model’. The last year of our integrated programme will become the first year of master's,” Rao told Careers360.

The university, however, is planning to conduct admission based on a combination of domain-specific subjects and the general aptitude test. “Asking students to write exams for the subjects they have already studied makes sense. Once they are admitted, they can choose any subjects they like. The finer details and the admission brochure for these courses is still in the works. It will be released soon for students,” said Rao.

The Central University of Gujarat will also offer admission to three courses based on CUET UG 2022. The university will grant admission to BA in German studies, BA in Chinese and a five-year integrated programme in social management. These courses are open to students of any stream.
