CUET PG 2026: NTA publishes subject-wise scores of those who appeared in rescheduled exam; says performance falls within normal score distribution.
To address concerns and queries raised on social media regarding the conduct of CUET PG special test and the preparation of results, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the subject-wise marks of candidates who appeared in the rescheduled Common University Entrance Test Postgraduate (CUET PG) 2026 examination.
In an official clarification, NTA acknowledged receiving several queries through social media platforms and emails regarding the rescheduled examination conducted on March 29 and 30, and also the methodology adopted for preparing results. To enhance transparency, the agency has now released detailed subject-wise marks of candidates who appeared in the rescheduled examination. It has also published the list of top-performing candidates in the corresponding subjects from the regular examination schedule.
NTA states that the disclosed data demonstrates that the performance of candidates who took the rescheduled examination falls within the normal distribution of scores observed in the respective subjects. The agency said the results do not indicate any unusual or disproportionate advantage for candidates who appeared in the special examination.
The rescheduled examination was conducted for 565 affected candidates, including 534 from Tura in Meghalaya and 31 from overseas examination centres. These candidates could not appear for the examination on their originally scheduled dates due to local disturbances, security concerns, and other unavoidable circumstances.
A special examination was conducted as a welfare measure to ensure that affected candidates were not deprived of the opportunity to appear for the test.

When is normalisation used?
The agency also addressed concerns regarding score normalisation, and shared that CUET PG 2026 results were prepared on the basis of actual marks obtained by candidates. It stated that all candidates, including those who appeared in the rescheduled examination, were evaluated using the same marking scheme.
NTA said normalisation is usually used when large and similar groups of candidates take an exam in different shifts. However, since only a small number of candidates appeared for the rescheduled CUET PG 2026 exam across 28 subjects, comparing their scores with those of the much larger regular exam group would not have given accurate or meaningful results.
The agency further noted that the question papers used in the rescheduled examination had been prepared in advance by subject experts and certified to be of equivalent difficulty level to those used in the regular examination.
NTA said the publication of marks data is to provide greater clarity and reassure candidates that the integrity of the examination and evaluation process had been maintained throughout the exam.
