Delhi Schools Closed: Arvind Kejriwal said that the decision was taken due to rising cases of COVID-19.
NEW DELHI : Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, on Friday, announced that all schools in Delhi will be closed till further orders. The chief minister said that the decision is being taken considering the rising number of COVD-19 cases.
Arvind Kejriwal, through his official social media handle, said: “Due to increasing cases of COVID-19, all schools (including government, private) in Delhi are being closed for all classes till further orders.”
कोविड के बढ़ते मामलों के कारण, दिल्ली में सभी स्कूल (सरकारी, प्राइवेट सहित), सभी क्लासेज के लिए अगले आदेश तक बंद किए जा रहे हैं।

The Directorate of Education, Delhi, said that all academic activities shall remain suspended with immediate effect.
The Directorate of Education, Delhi, in a notice, said: "In view of the sudden surge in the cases of COVID-19 in Delhi, all the Heads of Govt., Govt. Aided and Unaided Recognised Schools are hereby informed that conduct of all Academic and Examination Activities through physical mode shall remain suspended with immediate effect till further orders."
"They are further directed to ensure that no student of Classes 9 to 12 is called in the school physically for any kind of Academic or Examination Activity (like Practice of Practicals, Mid Term & Annual Examinations," it added.
Over the week, other states such as Rajasthan and Odisha have suspended classes due to rising COVID-19 positive cases in the states. Chhattisgarh postponed Class 10 board examinations and Maharashtra announced it was promoting students of Classes 9 and 11 without examinations.
