Delhi Teachers University admission from 2022 onwards: Delhi Government

Delhi Teachers University will come upon 12 acres of land at Bakkarwala village, enrol 5,000 students.
NEW DELHI: The new Delhi Teachers' University will come upon 12 acres of land at Bakkarwala village in west Delhi and will start admitting students from 2022, said a statement from the deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia's office.
The university will have state-of-art classes, a library, hall, computer labs, and conference room, said the statement and at full strength, the campus will be able to accommodate 5,000 students. The university will offer teaching courses and degrees.
The main university block will be a four-storeyed building that comprises the administrative floor and education floor. The administration office will be on the ground floor, and classes are to be held on the first, second and third floors, the statement said.

“The initiative intends to make teachers professionally trained, highly educated, motivated and passionate. The Delhi Teachers University will provide programmes such as BA-BEd, BSc-BEd. The students enrolled in these courses will be attached to the Delhi Government schools for the entire duration of their course to enable hands-on experience. The institute will also give importance to research,” said Manish Sisodia deputy chief minister of Delhi. He further instructed officials in charge to speed up the setting up of the Delhi Teachers University as the sessions are scheduled to start in 2022 itself.
The Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP government also aims to bring the best teachers from reputed foreign universities to develop Delhi teachers with the world’s best practices, the statement said.
