Delhi University re-schedules LLB exam date on June 18 to avoid clash with MHCET

NEW DELHI, JUNE 7: Bringing a major relief to LLB aspirants, University of Delhi has rescheduled its earlier LLB Entrance Exam date of June 17 which clashed with another law entrance exam scheduled by DHE Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (CET). The new exam date of Delhi University LLB entrance exam is June 18, 2018, officials said.

Careers360, in the larger interests of LLB aspirants across India, had written to DU officials including the Examination Cell Dean regarding the loss of opportunity that law aspirants might be facing in case both the important law entrance exam is held on the same date. Subsequently, the DU officials had told Careers360 that the University Examination Authority was positively looking into the matter and that a possibility of change in the exam schedule was on cards.
DU LLB Rescheduled Exam Date
In an official notification on June 6, the Delhi University Entrance Examination Cell Dean Prof Vinay Gupta put a final DUET 2018 Schedule mentioning the changed examination date of DU LLB 2018 exam. On June 6, 2018, individual messages were sent to the all DU LLB applicants informing them the new date of June 18 for DU LLB entrance exam.
The rescheduled DU LLB entrance test date will now make it possible for thousands of law aspirants to appear for both the LLB entrance examinations of national importance. However, the MH CET Law 2018 exam date for 3-year LLB programme remains unchanged as it will be held on May 17, itself.
Story so far
Earlier, both the examination authorities, Directorate of Higher Education Maharashtra on behalf of MH CET Law and the University of Delhi for DU LLB entrance exam, had announced to conduct their respective entrance examinations on June 17, 2018, however in different slots.
The Delhi University examination department took this decision of re-scheduling the DU LLB exam date on June 6, 2018, a day before the last date of applying for the three-year LLB entrance exam
While DHE Maharashtra had put up the exam date notification on its official website as early as February 2018, the date for Delhi University LLB exam was announced no sooner than May 18, 2018.

The DU LLB programme is considered one of the most sought-after undergraduate law programme in India, with over 25000 applicants registering for the entrance exam every year. On the other hand, the DHE Maharashtra administered MH CET Law has an equal traction of aspirants with 15040 seats on offer in 218 colleges affiliated to 11 Universities of the State.
