Delhi University officials in the recent press conference said that the admissions to UG merit-based programmes will be based on DU cut-off calculated as per past years practice.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in the month of June devised evaluation criteria for Class 12 results. As per the CBSE Class 12 evaluation criteria , the 40 % marks will be based on pre boards, mid-term exams and unit tests. 30% marks will be based on Class 11th final exam marks and the remaining 30% from best of three of Class 10 marks.

The Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) and the other boards have also devised their own assessment criteria for Class 12 results.

Last year, the Delhi University cut-offs were calculated by taking the best of four marks in the qualifying exam. DU aspirants can check below the process of “Best of four” calculations followed by the Delhi University to prepare the cut-off percentage of various Delhi University colleges.

Now that it is clear that the Delhi University admissions process is going to be similar to previous years, the DU aspirants must understand the concept of the DU’s “Best of four” calculation, which is the single most important factor for admissions to UG programmes.

The applicants need to choose two subjects from the combinations offered by various colleges. Last year, the university had withdrawn its policy to deduct 5% marks for students who wish to change their stream to apply for the BA programme. One non-listed subject can be included by the candidates without any deduction in Best of four marks.

For admissions to programmes offered by faculty of sciences, faculty of interdisciplinary and applied sciences, the merit will be calculated based on the aggregate percentage in PCM (physics, chemistry and mathematics) or PCB ( physics, chemistry and biology/ biotechnology/ biochemistry) depending upon the applied programme.

Meanwhile, the University Grants Commission (UGC) announced that the proposed CUCET exam 2021 will not be held this year.
