DU Admission: 6 points on procedure from 2022
- Instead of a cut-off based or merit-based admission, the Delhi University will opt for a common entrance test score based admission from 2022 in order to control over-admissions beyond sanctioned seats.
- The Delhi University will encourage admission in such programmes which have less number of applicants, “especially under the reserved category of Scheduled Tribes (STs) and in languages.”
- DU will ensure board-wise distribution of admissions in all the UG programmes as the university saw a large number of applicants from Kerala board this year.
- DU will ensure category-wise distribution of admissions in all courses as it witnessed admissions under the Other Backward Classes (OBC) non-creamy layer category being more than the average for Kerala, Rajasthan and Haryana boards.
- CUCET may be conducted by the university internally or by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
- CUCET will be held in multiple languages like other national level examinations such as Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu and Punjabi.
This year, 12 central universities including Assam University in Silchar, Central University of Gujarat, Central University of Punjab, Central University of Tamil Nadu, Central University of Jharkhand and Central University of Kerala conducted the CUCET 2021.
