GATE 2019: J&K government issues notification to aid students with cancelled flights due bad weather

NEW DELHI, FEBRUARY 7: The officials of the Jammu and Kashmir government have released a notification for all of those GATE candidates whose flights have gotten cancelled due to the present bad weather. Previously, the aspirants had asked for help since they had to arrive at their respective exam centres and the flights were cancelled with no further information about the rescheduling details.
The notification released by the government states that those candidates who missed their flights during the past two days due to weather problems in Srinagar are requested to register with the Assistant Commissioner Central in the office of Divisional Commissioner Kashmir - ACC Qazi Irfan Sb. 9419484646 ( acckashmir@gmail.com ).
GATE 2019 (which held its previous sessions on February 2 and 3) is set to conduct the remaining sessions on February 9 and 10. Many students had applied for immediate rescheduling of their flights after it was cancelled but no action has been taken as of now. A few reasons which the flight authorities have cited as to why the rescheduling has not been done is hike in fare prices. Seeing the plight of the GATE aspirants, the government has come to the forefront to help them.
IIT Madras will be conducting the Electronics and Communication Engineering and Electrical Engineering on February 9, 2019. Both the papers of GATE Civil Engineering will be held on February 10, 2019
