IIT Guwahati will conduct GATE 2026 on February 7, 8, 14, and 15 for 30 subjects in two shifts, morning session from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, and afternoon session from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
Recently, IIT Guwahati assured that the GATE 2026 schedule will not affect the UPSC ESE 2026 exam scheduled to be held on February 8.
Key engineering papers, including Civil Engineering (CE), Mechanical Engineering (ME), Electrical Engineering (EE), Geology and Geophysics (GG), Electronics Engineering (EC), Instrumentation (IN), Production and Industrial (PI), and Geomatics Engineering (GE), will not be scheduled on February 8.
The decision comes as a relief for thousands of aspirants who intended to appear for both exams, allowing them to concentrate on their preparation and planning without any exam schedule concerns.

The list of details that can be edited in the GATE 2026 application form is as follows.
- Name of the candidate
- Date of Birth
- Gender
- Change from PwD/Dyslexic to Non-PwD/Dyslexic
- Change from Non-PwD/Dyslexic to PwD/Dyslexic
- Change of category from SC/ST to any other
- Change of category to SC/ST
- Change of existing paper
- Change in choice of exam cities
- Add a second paper
