NEW DELHI: The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) has advanced the Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GUJCET 2024) exam date. The board will not be conducting the GUJCET 2024 exam on March 31.
The GUJCET exam date was revised to avoid clashing with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) board exam 2024. The exam was earlier scheduled to take place on April 2.
The exam is held for admission to engineering and pharmacy courses for science stream students.
“As the CBSE board exam is held on the said date, GUJCET-2024 exam will be held on Sunday 31/03/2024 instead of 02/04/2024. This should be noted by school principals/guardians, students and all concerned,” the official statement said.
CBSE Class 12 board exams 2024 is scheduled to begin from February 15 to April 2, 2024. The CBSE Board had earlier said that the dates were decided in accordance with the Joint Entrance Exam 2024 (JEE Main) dates.
The GUJCET syllabus is based on the NCERT Class 12 physics, chemistry, mathematics and biology textbooks. Students who wish to take admission in pharmacy will have to appear for physics, chemistry and biology (PCB) and those who want to take BTech admission will have to appear for physics, chemistry and mathematics (PCM).
The Gujarat CET exam will be held for a duration of 3 hours and students will get 60 minutes to answer 40 questions in each section. One mark will be awarded for each correct answer and 0.25 marks will be deducted for every incorrect answer. The board will conduct the exam in English, Hindi and Gujarati.
