Gurugram schools shift to online classes tomorrow due to heavy rainfall

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) in its forecast has issued an orange alert for Gurugram due to heavy rainfall. All schools in the Jammu region will be closed till September 4.
In the wake of heavy rains forecast, the Gurugram district disaster management authority has directed all schools and private institutions to hold online classes tomorrow, September 2. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) in its forecast has issued an orange alert in the city due to heavy rainfall.
According to the official statement, from 3 pm to 7 pm today, the city has recorded heavy rainfall of over 100 mm, and IMD has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall for September 2. “In view of the above forecast, all Corporate offices and Private institutions in the district are advised to guide their employees to work from home, and all schools in the district are advised to conduct online classes on September 2,” the official statement read.
J-K schools, colleges closed till September 4
Furthermore, all government and private schools in Jammu will be closed till September 4. The University of Jammu has also postponed all exams till September 4. The local meteorological office has predicted moderate to heavy rainfall in most parts of the Jammu division on September 2 and 3.
“There is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall over Kathua, Jammu, Udhampur and Reasi, and moderate to heavy rainfall over Doda, Samba, Rajouri, Poonch, Ramban, and Kishtwar in the Jammu region and Anantnag and Kulgam in south Kashmir mainly towards late night of September 2 or early morning of September 3 till late afternoon,” an official said.
Himachal Pradesh school closure
Additionally, Shimla deputy commissioner Anupam Kashyap has also ordered the closure of all government and private educational institutes, including schools, colleges, anganwadi centres, ITIs, polytechnics, coaching centres, and nursing institutes. throughout the district on September 2 under the Disaster Management Act. As per reports, a wall of Shimla's Portmore Government Model School collapsed. However, no casualty was reported in the incident.
