Haryana makes education free for students with annual family income under Rs 1.8 lakh

NEW DELHI: Chief minister of Haryana, Manohar Lal Khattar announced free education for the children whose family income is less than 1.80 lakh per year. Chief minister Khattar said that the decision has been taken to promote education in the state, and to ensure education of the children belonging to poor families.

The family income of the students should be less than 1.80 lakh and must be verified under Parivar Pehchan Patra Scheme of the Government to avail the facility. The PPP Scheme was launched by the state with an objective of creating authentic, verified and reliable data of all families in Haryana.

"To promote education in the state, the Haryana government will provide free education to children whose families have been verified under Parivar Pahchan Patra Scheme of the state,” tweeted Khattar.

The free education scheme aims to ensure that children belonging to poor families complete their education, and the financial constraint in the family do not hamper their education. The families who have been verified under PPP scheme of the government will avail the facility of free education for their children, added the chief minister. "Students belonging to the families whose verified family income is less than 1.80 Lakh per year will be eligible to avail free education provided by the state government," he further added.

The chief minister made the announcement while addressing the gathering of students who cleared the JEE advance 2021, and Civil Services 2020 under state sponsored Super 100 Programme.
