IGNOU launches BA programme in gender studies; Check details here

Candidates can apply for the IGNOU BA in gender studies programme at ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in. Last date to apply is February 20, 2023.
NEW DELHI: Indira Gandhi National Open University's (IGNOU) school of gender and development studies has launched a new bachelor of arts (BA) in gender studies (BAGS) programme from the January, 2023 cycle. Interested candidates can apply at IGNOU admission portal at- ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in till February 20, 2023.
This three-year programme will be in open distance learning (ODL) mode. Students that have completed their 10+2 or an equivalent are eligible to apply for the BA in gender studies programme at IGNOU. The course fee for the course is Rs 4,000 per year.

Steps to fill IGNOU admission 2023 form
- Visit the admission portal of IGNOU - ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in.
- Click on the 'New Registration' link.
- Fill the required registration details.
- Remember username and password to login.
- Make payment of application fees.
- Download the confirmation page and keep a hard copy of the same for future reference.
IGNOU has extended the registra tion deadline for fresh admission in January cycle till February 20, 2023.
Speaking at the programme launch, IGNOU, vice-chancellor, Nageshwar Rao emphasised on such programmes being necessary for the holistic growth of the learners, according to the national education policy (NEP) 2020 guidelines.
While addressing the gathering, special guest, WISE-KIRAN project, head, climate change programme division, Nisha Mendiratta said that this is the right time the University has taken such an initiative to launch a programme on Gender Studies at the under-graduate level. She further said that the university can reach across the country and create gender sensitivity among the youth with this programme.
