IIIT-Delhi to offer Joint/Dual PhD programme with University at Buffalo, SUNY

NEW DELHI, JULY 18: The Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology (IIIT-D) has collaborated with the University at Buffalo, State University of New York for a joint PhD programme. Under the programme, the two institutions will jointly develop a system of academic exchanges that will allow a doctoral student to perform coordinated research studies at both institutions.
A PhD student in the programme will spend approximately equal periods of time at each institution. Supervisors will jointly guide the PhD student from both institutions with the aim of obtaining PhD by satisfying the requirements and quality standards for the degree of each institution.

The new Joint Degree with University at Buffalo offers students the opportunity to work in two great universities, benefit from the brightest minds in India and USA. Students on this programme will also acquire experience of different research traditions and cultures which will enhance their employability even further” said Prof. Pankaj Jalote, Director IIIT-Delhi.

Successful candidates will be eligible for a joint PhD that names both institutions. The joint PhD student will be supported financially by a scholarship, stipend or grant from the institutions, or from a third party. The stipend will be commensurate with the standards followed in each institution.
