IIM Ahmedabad, IFSCA collaborate on research to support framing of public policies

IIMA: IIM Ahmedabad, IFSCA research to explore consultancy, training, internships and capacity building
NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad is collaborating with the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA), a statutory authority to conduct policy research to help in the framing of public policies.
A statement from IIM Ahmedabad says that the institute has signed an agreement with the IFSCA on February 10 to conduct policy research, and help in providing consultancy, training, internships and capacity building. It intends to support research in various new financial areas.

IFSCA is a statutory body whose objective is to create and maintain financial products, financial services, and financial institutions in the International Financial Services Centres (IFSCs).”
“IIMA is excited to strengthen evidence-based policymaking and regulation to build a globally competitive Financial Centre in India. This MoU will help create the foundation and provide impetus for focused research and policymaking related to financial markets within the overall economic framework. He also gave an overview of the various Centres of Research Excellence at IIM Ahmedabad and the pioneering research work that has been happening at the institute,” said Errol DSouza, director of IIM Ahmedabad.

Injeti Srinivas, chairperson of IFSCA said, “It will provide an ideal platform for a two-way collaboration between IFSCA and IIMA, especially in the areas of policy research, economic impact analysis, strategy management and emerging areas such as FinTech, Climate Finance etc.
