IIM Lucknow begins new academic year with a batch of 643 PG, PhD students; organises 3-day induction event

IIML induction 2025 began on June 24, with 32% freshers in PGP. Students from engineering backgrounds constituted 50.7% of the new batch.
Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow begins new academic session with an intake of 643 students for the academic year 2025-26. The three-day induction programme commenced on June 24, and will provide the students with an introduction to the institute’s culture and academics, as per the official statement.
The IIM Lucknow orientation saw 50.7% students from engineering backgrounds and 49.3% students from non-engineering backgrounds. Female students accounted for 30% of the incoming batch. Freshers amounted to 32% in PGP and 68% in PGP-ABM.
The new IIM Lucknow students will get a chance to interact with stakeholders from academia and industry during their three-day induction programme.

The induction at IIM Lucknow was attended by Ananth Narayan G, whole time member, Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), and IIM Lucknow alumnus from the Class of 1993, as the chief guest. The event was also joined by Sanjeet Singh, dean faculty; Sanjay K Singh, dean programmes; Pushpendra Priyadarshi, chairperson, doctoral programme; Dipti Gupta, chairperson, PGP-SM, and Alok Dixit, chairperson, PGP.

At the IIM Lucknow event, Sanjeet Singh stated, “What will set you apart is your ability to think critically, challenge assumptions, and approach problems with both emotional intelligence and clarity of mind. Over the next two years, IIM Lucknow will offer you the opportunity to grow, collaborate, and discover your unique perspective.”
The dean of programmes at IIM Lucknow emphasised that the students will have the most defining moments of their lives at the campus. “Beyond academic excellence, your journey here will focus on building a mindset grounded in curiosity and resilience,” he added.
Narayan G advised the new students to be guided by their inner voices and to not deviate from their own personal values. That, he said, is the measure of success.
