NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Sambalpur has introduced a change in its admission process. Starting from the academic year 2025-2026, the institute will independently manage admissions for its flagship MBA programme, marking its exit from Common admission process (CAP) 2025. The same process will also apply to the newly launched MBA in Business Analytics programme, which includes an option for a dual degree from an international institution.
According to an official press release, the new system will unify the admissions for both the MBA and MBA in Business Analytics programmes. The IIM Sambalpur will also offer candidates the flexibility to attend personal interviews either in person or online, as per candidate’s convenience.
The key highlights of the IIM Sambalpur news admission process is mentioned below.
Flexible interview options: Applicants can choose to attend interviews online or in person at the IIM Sambalpur campus or its Delhi campus, ensuring greater convenience.
Unified Admissions: A single admission process will be used for both the flagship MBA and the new MBA in Business Analytics programs, simplifying the procedure for shortlisted candidates.
Direct Interactions: One-on-one interactions between the institute and candidates enable a more effective and personalized evaluation.
Admissions at IIM Sambalpur are based on a merit score calculated using CAT scores, academic record, work experience, gender diversity and PI performance. The final score comprises 75 points for the adjusted Pre-PI score and 25 points for the PI score, totaling 100. Candidates must meet the minimum PI score set by the institute to qualify for the merit list.
