IIT Delhi has launched an executive programme in healthcare entrepreneurship and management – a five-month online course aimed at training professionals to build and scale innovation-led solutions in the healthcare sector.

The programme is offered through IIT Delhi’s Continuing Education Programme (CEP), a statutory body responsible for conducting certificate programmes and issuing certificates.

Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree, while prior work experience or project-based exposure is considered desirable. The programme fee is Rs 1,30,000 + GST, with an application fee of Rs 1,000.

According to IIT Delhi, learners will receive an e-certificate from CEP, along with opportunities to interact with IIT Delhi faculty, AIIMS experts and industry specialists.

Weekend classes have been designed to support working professionals and opportunities planned to collaborate with a diverse peer group across healthcare, engineering, biotech and research backgrounds, and hands-on project experience that strengthens innovation capability and entrepreneurial confidence, the official press release said.

The programme will be delivered through weekend live online sessions along with guided project work. The course is designed for working professionals, innovators and young graduates seeking careers in medical technology, digital health, biomedical engineering and healthcare entrepreneurship.

IIT Delhi: Focus on healthcare innovation

The course is anchored by IIT Delhi’s Centre for Biomedical Engineering and includes clinical inputs from experts at AIIMS Delhi.

The curriculum, the press release noted, covers identifying healthcare gaps using empathy and data, applying design thinking, prototyping using digital tools and 3D printing, usability testing, and understanding regulatory requirements, IP frameworks and quality standards. It also includes modules on branding, pricing, sales strategy, distribution pathways, business models, funding and scaling healthcare ventures.

Led by faculty members, including Arnab Chanda and Biswarup Mukherjee from the centre for biomedical engineering, the programme combines engineering, clinical and entrepreneurial perspectives.

According to the release, a central feature of the IIT Delhi programme is its project-driven approach, where participants work on real-world healthcare problems and develop deployable prototypes through structured mentoring, peer learning and expert feedback.
