NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad has inaugurated eight hybrid classrooms in the IITH campus under a corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative by the Cyient foundation. These classrooms were upgraded to include live streaming of classes with a two-way communication facility.
“Hybrid learning can improve the flexibility and customization of classes, the accessibility of education, and the use of digital tools during any course proceedings. This experience will facilitate an all-around better teaching and learning environment for faculty and students,” said a statement from IIT Hyderabad.

The hybrid classrooms were inaugurated by BVR Mohan Reddy, the founder and chairman of Cyient. He is also the chairman of the board of governors at IIT Hyderabad and IIT Roorkee.
“The unprecedented circumstances for the last two years have accelerated the digital transformation of education and learning. The new norm will be hybrid learning with infrastructure in classrooms with smart boards, AV projection systems, and interactive virtual platforms. I am delighted IIT Hyderabad has initiated actions to create the new classrooms. Cyient Foundation is very pleased to support this game-changing initiative for efficient and effective student learning,” said Reddy.
