IIT Jodhpur announces BS physics programme with 4 specialisations

IIT Jodhpur will be shortlisting candidates for the new BS physics course with specialisations, on the basis of their JEE Advanced score 2023.
NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur's (IITJ) department of physics announces a bachelor in science (BS) physics programme with four specialisations. The UG programme was approved by the senate on April 25, 2022.
IIT Jodhpur offers the new physics programme with specialisations in advanced energy materials, photonics, quantum technologies and entrepreneurship. The BS physics course is a four-year programme in which the student will be taught 8-9 subjects per semester.
BS physics course structure
The first year will be focusing on fundamental knowledge in science and engineering; second and third year- comprehensive theories and experiments in advance physics concepts; final year- focus on chosen specialisation.

BS physics eligibility
To be eligible for the new BS physics programme at IITJ, a candidate must have cleared their class 12 examinations or an equivalent in the science stream. Further, the shortlisting of the candidates will be on the basis of their JEE Advance score 2023.
In addition to this, the institute, at the end of the seventh semester, also allows a BS student who has already chosen a specialisation with a minimum of 6.0 CGPA and has fulfilled the minimum credit requirements to switch to the BS-MTech dual degree programme at IITJ for their eight semester.
BS physics course fees
The candidates that belongs to the unreserved and OBC category will be required to pay Rs 1,00,000 per semester while the SC,ST, PwD students will be fully exempted from the payment of tuition fee. Meanwhile, the other students will have to pay the semester fee, refundable deposits and advance towards dining charges.
