IIT Jodhpur calls for applications for MTech in Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality

NEW DELHI: Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur has invited applications for a part-time MTech programme in Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality (AR-VR) for this year. IIT Jodhpur will be offering MTech in AR and VR in collaboration with TIH iHub Drishti Foundation.
Working professionals with a BE, BTech, MCA, MSc degree in any discipline are eligible to apply for this MTech course. Interested candidates will have to apply for the second-batch MTech admission before June 10 at the official website, ihub-drishti.ai/mtecharvr/.
“The program offers working individuals the opportunity to pursue an off-campus MTech in AR-VR Technologies, with limited on-campus immersions of no more than 15 days per semester,” IIT-J said.

Eligibility for MTech in AR-VR admission
MTech in Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality is a two-year academic programme of 60 credits. The course curriculum will be led by faculty members from various IITs and industry experts. “Prior research exposure and/or industry experience in areas related to AR-VR will be considered a plus,” it said.
- Working professionals with a BE, BTech, MCA, MSc degree in any discipline are eligible.
- General, OBCl category candidates should have secured a minimum of 60% marks or a minimum CGPA of 6.0 on the scale of 10.
- SC, ST, PD candidates should have a minimum score of 55% or 5.5 CGPA from a recognised university.
The course aims to provide “a comprehensive understanding, advanced analytical capabilities, and practical research skills to effectively tackle complex challenges in AR-VR systems”.

Talking about the importance of this course for the working professionals, IIT Jodhpur director Santanu Chaudhury said: “With AR and VR emerging as influential technologies, this innovative program, a first-of-its-kind by IIT Jodhpur, has been developed through collaboration with experts from pan IIT, including industry professionals. The program aims to provide a comprehensive and experiential learning environment, empowering individuals to design intelligent and immersive systems for diverse applications such as healthcare, education, defence, marketing, retail, engineering, entertainment and gaming, industrial and manufacturing etc.”
