IIT Kanpur launches four new e-Masters programmes; Expected to commence from August

IIT Kanpur has announced the launch of four e-master programmes to smoothen the online learning in this pandemic situation.

New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (IIT Kanpur) is all set to launch four e-Masters programmes to ensure a smooth online learning. The e-Master programmes will be offered for Cybersecurity, Communication Systems, Economics & Management, and Power Sector Regulation. As per officials, these courses might commence from the second week of August. Candidates willing to enroll will be able to fill the application form from July.

All details related to the course dates, eligibility, total fees and other admission procedures will be updated by the authorities along with the application form later on their website.

The Union Education Minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal, through his recent tweet has said that these programmes are expected to help employed personnel from various industries and backgrounds enhance their skill sets and improve their employability.

Abhay Karandikar, director, IIT Kanpur said: “In order to be effective and remain relevant in the evolving scenarios, professionshrials are required to continually upgrade their knowledge and keep up with the latest developments in diverse fields. It has, therefore, become imperative to provide access to a complete ecosystem of knowledge. IIT Kanpur is introducing an e-Masters degree program to address the said requirement.”

“The e-Masters programme is expected to help employed personnel from industry and various other backgrounds enhance their skill sets and improve their employability. The program will also help people enhance their qualification by obtaining a formal degree in state of the art areas,” Karandikar added.

About IIT Kanpur’s E-Master programme

All the four programmes will be held in online mode wherein the classes will be taken by the expert faculties of IIT Kanpur. Candidates will be expected to complete an allotted number of courses within an allotted time frame. Along with the online classes, candidates will also have to go through an on-campus practical training which will consist of laboratory visits and sessions for about two weeks.
