IIT Madras executive MBA programme to include international immersion learning

Students of IIT Madras’ executive MBA programme will be send on a 9-day immersion programme at IÉSEG School of Management in Belgium and France.
NEW DELHI: The department of management studies, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, has included international immersion learning component to its executive MBA programme for working professionals.
The new component aims at providing global leadership and cultural intelligence interaction to the students. The university will send students of the present and next batches of the programmes for a nine-day immersion programme at IÉSEG School of Management at Brussels in Belgium and Paris, Lille in France.

The programme will include classroom sessions on global cultures and how business is done in a region with a complex socio-cultural setup such as Europe.
The institute had also started the online registration process for the Executive MBA programme for the academic year 2024-25. Candidates can apply at doms.iitm.ac.in till October 19.
M Thenmozhi, head of the department of management studies, IIT Madras, said, “The cutting edge curriculum, strategic and digital focus and strong peer group learning develops executives into transformational leaders who drive change and enhance organisational growth.”
The two-year programme comprises a practice-oriented curriculum, including three projects that utilise the application of theoretical concepts to live business problems, the IIT Madras said.
TJ Kamalanabhan, programme coordinator, said, “In addition to ‘classics’, the programme also offers exposure to topical courses such as Cyber Security and its Applications, Decision Making Under Uncertainty, Organizational Leadership and Change, Investment Managementwhich are vital to any contemporary Business.”
The programme aims at equipping mid-career working professionals with deep functional and broad industrial domain knowledge, integrative perspective of boundary-spanning business decisions and leadership traits to contribute to a global business setup.
Candidates applying for the programme should have secured 60% and above in bachelor’s degree in any discipline and a minimum of three years of work experience. The admission is held through an entrance examination and a virtual personal interview.
