This move is as part of the Amendment of Karnataka Civil Service (General Recruitment) Rules 1977 to promote gender equality. The amendment will provide one percent government jobs to transgender persons. According to the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Rules 2020, transgender persons have to get a certificate from the district magistrate.
