NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to release the JEE Main 2022 exam dates soon. The JEE Main exam pattern 2022 will also be released along with its notification at its official website - jeemain.nta.nic.in.

Meanwhile, those aspirants who are planning to take the JEE Main 2022 exam can check the last year’s exam pattern, analysis as well as the important topics of the JEE Mains exam. This will help candidates to have an overall idea about the IIT JEE Mains 2022 exam, types of questions asked in the marking exam and how to plan the strategy.

Chemistry: 25 (20+10) 10 Questions with answers as a numerical value. Out of 10 questions, 5 questions are compulsory.

JEE Main Marking Scheme

MCQs: Four marks for each correct answer. One mark dedication as negative marking.


Questions with numerical value answers: Four marks for each correct answer, no negative marking.

JEE Main exam analysis - Previous year

  • As per previous year’s JEE Mains exam analysis, mathematics difficulty level was of moderate to difficult, while Physics was easy to moderate and Chemistry was easy.

  • The questions in mathematics were mostly based on Calculus, 3D & Vector Algebra. There were some good and tricky questions from Binomial Theorem, Permutation & Combination, Probability & Matrices.

  • Physics had questions from Kinematics, EM Waves, Electromagnetic Induction, Heat & Thermodynamics, Semiconductors, Modern Physics & Optics.

  • As per JEE Main previous year analysis, Chemistry had questions from Organic Chemistry & Inorganic Chemistry had more weightage. Physical Chemistry was asked only in Numerical Based Type.
