However, some students and experts suggested that while this move will give students time to prepare, it will be a loss for top scores. They further suggested that rescheduling of JEE Main 2022 will lead to postponement of JEE Advanced 2022 resulting in late BTech admissions.
“Well this decision to postpone the exam could be frustrating and demotivating for those who are extremely well prepared. Such students usually plan it in such a way that they reach their peak performance level just around the exam. Postponement of exam means they need to re-align themselves all over again,” said Partha Halder, HOD Chemistry; Centre Head, FIITJEE Punjabi Bagh Centre.
“However, it's fantastic news for those students who were facing problems to cope up with Board Exam and JEE Main together,” he added.
“The other area of concern is JEE Advanced will have to undergo a date change, it could be held in August/September, which would mean a delayed start to academic session at IIT. So that’s the negative side,” Halder further said.
