According to Ajay Sharma, National Academic Director, Engineering, Aakash Educational Services Limited, the JEE Main 2025 January 28 shift 1 physics section was considered moderate to difficult by most students, with some questions reaching JEE Advanced levels of difficulty. Many questions were theoretical. While the distribution of topics appeared balanced, some chapters were underrepresented or missing. 

Key topics like Mechanics, Waves, and Thermodynamics were adequately covered, while Electrostatics, Optics, and Mechanics had a stronger presence. Conversely, there were fewer questions from Modern Physics and Magnetism, and topics like Alternating Currents (AC) and Electromagnetic Induction (EMI) were absent. Instrument-related questions were not included.

According to Aakash Educational Services Limited, the JEE Main January 28, 2025, during shift 1 exam, was rated as moderate to difficult overall. Among the three sections, Chemistry was the easiest and served as a time-saver for students. Physics was moderate to difficult, while Mathematics was deemed the most challenging and time-consuming due to its lengthy calculations. The distribution of questions across topics was generally balanced, although some chapters were notably absent.

NTA will declare the JEE Main 2025 result for the January session by February 12, 2025, while for the JEE Main 2025 April session the result will be announced by April 17, 2025.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has commenced the first shift of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025 January 28 exam at 9 am. Shift 1 exam will be conducted till 12 noon. 

The National Testing Agency has issued instructions to attempt each section in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025 session 1 paper 1 for BE, BTech programmes. If a candidate indulges in unfair means during the exam, he or she shall be deemed to have used unfair practices and booked under the Unfair Means (UFM) case. The candidate may be debarred for three years in the future and shall also be liable for criminal action and any other action as deemed fit.

Tie between candidates obtaining same NTA scores in JEE Main 2025 session 1 paper 1 will be resolved in the following order:

• NTA score in Mathematics, followed by;
• NTA score in Physics, followed by;
• NTA score in Chemistry, followed by;
• Candidate with less proportion of a number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in all the subjects in the exam, followed by;
• Candidate with less proportion of a number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in Mathematics in the Test, followed by;
• Candidate with less proportion of a number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in Physics in the Test, followed by;
• Candidate with less proportion of a number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in Chemistry in the Test followed by;
• If there is a tie even after this, candidates will be assigned the same rank

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will hold the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025 shift 1 exam from 9 am to 12 noon.

As per JEE Main 2025 marking scheme, candidates will be awarded four marks for each correct answer. Negative marking has been introduced this year, as per which one mark will be deducted for every incorrect response. 

Many candidates reported difficulties in reaching the JEE Mains 2025 exam centres in Prayagraj due to the huge congregation of devotees in the Mahakumbh Mela. NTA has moved the exam centres of such students to the nearby city Varanasi for today' exam.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) rescheduled the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025 exam for 114 candidates due to technical snag in a Karnataka centre, Talent, (TC code- 40086), No. 3, Belmar Estate, Nagasandra Main Rd, Amaravathi Layout, Nagara Bavi, Nalagadderanahalli, Peenya Bengaluru. The JEE Main 2025 session 1 exam will now be held today or tomorrow for the affected candidates.

Along with the JEE Main admit card, candidates will be required carry the following documents to the examination centres.

• One original valid photo identity proof issued by the government (PAN card, Driving License, Voter ID, Passport, Aadhaar card with photograph, E-Aadhar, Ration Card, Aadhaar enrollment number with photo).
• One passport-size photograph (same as uploaded with the online application form of JEE Main 2025). This photograph will be required to be pasted on the attendance sheet at the centre.
• Duly filled in self-declaration form (Undertaking) downloaded from the NTA Website.
• A transparent Ball ballpoint pen.
• Personal transparent water bottle.
• Sugar tablets/ whole fruits for candidates who are diabetic.

NTA has not issued any specific JEE Main dress code for male and female candidates, however, students are advised to avoid wearing caps, scarves, accessories, electronic devices, or any other metallic items. Wearing any kind of jewellery or ornaments is not allowed inside the exam hall. Candidates are advised to wear simple and comfortable clothes. Candidates must avoid clothes that have many pockets and any metallic items attached to them.

Along with the exam-day guidelines, the NTA has informed candidates about the JEE Main 2025 dress code and things to carry. It is mandatory for the students to carry their JEE Main 2025 admit card along with a valid photo ID proof, self-declaration form, and non-Aadhaar declaration.

7 am to 8:30 am - The NTA will allow entry inside the exam hall. Candidates will have to go through the admit card, and photo ID verification process, biometric registration, record of manual attendance by invigilator.

They will be required to provide one passport size photograph, same as the one uploaded in the JEE Main application form 2025. One passport size photograph will be pasted on the attendance sheet at the centre. Photocopies or images stored in mobile phones will not be accepted.

Candidates will be allowed to carry the documents, transparent bottle and ball point pen inside the exam hall.

8.30 am to 8.50 am - Instructions will be given by the invigilators on the conduct of the exam. Students are required to find their roll number and get seated on time.

8.50 am - Candidates will be allowed to log in to the JEE Main exam and read instructions.

9 am to 12 noon - The JEE Main January shift 1 exam will commence and end at 12 noon.

As per JEE Main 2025 exam pattern, the question paper will comprise 75 multiple-choice questions divided into three sections – physics, chemistry, and mathematics – carrying a total of 300 marks. Section A will contain 20 questions on each subject while section B will consist of five questions on each subject.

Here are steps to reset your JEE password:

• Go to jeemain.nta.nic.in and click on login window
• Press on registered candidate link and look for ‘forgot password’
• Log in with the One-Time-Password (OTP) provided in email or mobile to proceed with a password change to the new one.
• The user will be redirected to step 2 to create the new password.
• One-Time-Password (OTP) will be the same in both steps.

• If religion or customs require you to wear specific attire, please visit the centre early for thorough checking and mandatory frisking.
• No candidate would be allowed to enter the examination centre, without an admit card and undertaking, valid ID proof, and proper frisking.
• All the examination centres are under CCTV surveillance and equipped with jammers.
• Candidates will be allowed to carry a personal transparent water bottle, a simple transparent ball-point pen, admit card, additional passport-size photograph, original valid ID proof.
• Before reaching the centre, candidates must enter the required details in the self-declaration (undertaking) in legible handwriting, paste the photograph, and put a thumb impression at the appropriate place on the admit card. They should ensure that their left-hand thumb impression is clear and not smudged.
• Candidates are not allowed to carry any other personal belongings, including electronic devices, or mobile phones to the exam centre. Examination officials will not be responsible for the safekeeping of personal belongings and there will be no facility.
• If a candidate goes for bio-break or toilet, they should undergo the mandatory frisking and biometrics again. Apart from the biometric attendance and frisking at entry, candidates will be frisked and biometric attendance will be taken again on entry from bio-break or toilet breaks.

Those candidates who did not use their Aadhaar Card details during the JEE Mains 2025 registration are required to carry a non-Aadhaar declaration, in a new update. Students will declare that their candidature is “genuine” and the online application form is valid, through the form.

• Click on the link to download admit card 
• Enter application number and password
• JEE Mains admit card will be displayed
• Download JEE Main hall ticket 2025 and take a print out
