JKBOSE results: Girls outperform boys in Class 10 and 12 exams

About 85 per cent of students passed class 10 examinations, while the percentage stood at 84 for class 12. The examinations were held in October-November last year, they said. A total of 85.03 per cent of the 94,845 students passed the class 10 examinations -- among whom 47,736 were boys, and 47,109 were girls.
The result showed that girls were marginally ahead as 40,408 girls (85.78 per cent) and 40,242 (84.30 per cent) boys qualified the exam. A total of 16,550 students secured grade A1, followed by 14,398 students who received A2. For the class 12 exams, 84 per cent of the 70,735 students qualified the examination, officials said.

Eighty-six per cent of girls passed the exam, as boys lagged behind at 82 per cent. A whopping 33,549 -- or 47 per cent -- of the candidates secured distinction, crossing the 75 per cent threshold, officials said.
