NEW DELHI : The Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has extended its COVID-19 guidelines till July 26 allowing all “group A level” staff such as directors and registrars to attend offices on a regular basis.
The remaining staff will be allowed to visit offices with upto 50% strength “as per requirement” and the rest will work from home.
The university extended its guidelines as schools and universities across the country have continued to be wary about reopening in fear of a third wave of rising coronavirus cases.
The university has also asked all departments to prepare rosters so as to ensure that required staff attend the office every day.
Canteens have been allowed to function with 50% seating capacity and sports complexes have been opened. Standalone shops and shopping complexes inside the university have been allowed to open.
However, the B.R. Ambedkar Central Library will continue to remain closed till further notice
It has also allowed marriage functions at the Community Centre of the University allowing a maximum of 50 persons.
The university has asked campus residents to not move within the campus except for essential activities or services. The university said that campus gates will remain closed except for emergency movement.
