KIIT to offer free education to children of COVID-19 deceased

NEW DELHI: Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology, (KIIT), deemed to be a university, has decided to provide technical and professional education absolutely free of cost to the children of the COVID-19 deceased in Odisha. The move has been decided by the founder of KIIT and KISS, Achyuta Samanta.
Sons and daughters of the COVID-19 deceased can apply to different technical and professional courses of KIIT, including ITI and Diploma Engineering, as per their eligibility for admission.
This facility of free education by the deemed to be university will be available for two academic years, 2020-21 and 2021-22. For the admissions, preference will be given to the children of COVID-19 deceased from BPL, SC, ST and SCBC categories. The move will provide relief to the people of Odisha who have been made helpless by the pandemic.
The COVID-19 pandemic has affected millions and caused much panic including in Odisha in India. The number of new coronavirus infections is increasing by the day in Odisha and many have lost their lives.
