Manipur Board Class 10, 12 exams cancelled due to COVID-19

NEW DELHI: The Manipur government has cancelled the Class 10 and 12 board examinations 2021 on Wednesday due to the Covid-19 situation. As per Hindustan Times report, education minister S Rajen Singh announced the cancellation of BoSEM (Class 12) and CoHSEM (Class 10) exam 2021 during a media briefing in Imphal.

In a notification, joint secretary of board secondary education S Mangijao said,“In view of the uncertain conditions due to Covid-19 pandemic and the feedback obtained from various stakeholders, it is hereby notified for information of all concerned that High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination 2021 is cancelled,” according to the report.

Secretary Ch Biren Singh of CoHSEM announced that the “modus operandi of the award of marks, certificates of the students shall be done with due approval of the government,” report added.

The board has also suspended the offline classes in view of COVID-19 situation in the state until further orders. Check school reopening updates here .

The state government constituted a 14-member committee to develop an evaluation mechanism for preparing the results.

Including CBSE and ICSE several other states have also cancelled their board exams 2021. The boards are in the process of developing evaluation criteria for students to promote them into next Class.
