Mumbai University postpones PET 2024, LLM CET exams to November 24 due to technical issues

NEW DELHI: Mumbai University has announced the postponement of the PhD Entrance Test (PET) 2024 and LLM-CET 2024 exam scheduled for November 17, 2024, at Surekha Infotech, Dombivli, due to technical issues. The Mumbai University PET 2024 exam has now been rescheduled to be held on November 24.
The postponement applies exclusively to candidates assigned to the Surekha Infotech examination centre. Affected students have been advised to stay updated as the university will soon issue revised hall tickets with details of the updated exam centre and schedule.

The official Mumbai University notice read, “The PET 2024 exam and LLM-CET 2024 exam at the exam centre Surekha Infotech, Dombivli, which were scheduled on 17th November, 2024 are postponed due to technical reasons. The above said exams are re-scheduled on Sunday 24h November, 2024. The only candidates who were allotted the above-mentioned exam centre will receive their revised hall tickets notifying the exam centre and other details shortly.’’
Mumbai University PET 2024 exam chaos
The decision to postpone comes in the wake of widespread chaos and allegations of mismanagement during the Mumbai University PET 2024 exams. Scheduled to start at 10:30 am on November 17 at centres like Thakur College, Kandivli, and Surekha Infotech, Dombivli, the MU PET 2024 exam failed to commence even by their designated end time. Aspirants reported significant stress and anxiety, particularly as the exam was being conducted after a two-year gap.
Mumbai University PET 2024: Allegations by Yuva Sena
The Yuva Sena, the youth wing of Shiv Sena (UBT), criticized the university for its mismanagement. Representatives, including Aditya Thackeray and senate members Pradeep Sawant and Rajan Kolmbekar, intervened by contacting Mumbai University registrar Prasad Karande to demand accountability. The youth wing highlighted several lapses, including the decision to conduct exams in computer classes rather than proper colleges.

In an official statement, Yuva Sena called for punitive action against the agency responsible for conducting the exams. They also demanded the resignation of the head of examinations, holding them morally accountable for the mismanagement.
