NEET 2020: Over 40 exam centres changed by NTA for COVID-19 measures

Download EBookNEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has changed the exam centres of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test - NEET, which will be held on September 13, 2020, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. As per the notice, as many as 44 NEET exam centres have been changed for some candidates due to implementation of COVID-19 measures.

NEET UG exam centres changed
NTA notice states that there has no change in the NEET exam cities, only the name and address of the particular centre has been changed. All the candidates concerned with the change in test centres have been informed through SMS, email and calls. Such informed students need to download fresh NEET admit cards to check the new allotted exam centre.
Number of NEET centres added/replaced
As per the list of new/replaced NEET exam centre details, a total of 48 test centres have been added or changed. The exam centres are changed in 15 states which includes Assam, Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and West Bengal.
Aspirants must familiarise themselves with the newly allotted test centre of NEET 2020. The notice mentions, “Candidates are also advised to acquaint themselves with the location of the new examination centres allotted now, so that they do not face any difficulty in reaching the newly allotted examination centre.”
For the convenience of candidates amid COVID-19, NTA has increased the number of exam centres for NEET 2020 from 2,546 to 3,843 for travelling purposes and social distancing norms.
NEET 2020 exam
The exam hall ticket has been released on August 26, 2020, at ntaneet.nic.in. As many as 15.97 lakh candidates will be appearing for NEET entrance exam for admission to 80,055 MBBS, 26,949 BDS, 52,720 AYUSH and 525 BVSc-AH seats. NEET 2020 is also the basis for admission to 1,205 and 200 MBBS seats in 15 AIIMS and 2 JIPMER institutes, respectively.
