The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test - postgraduate (NEET PG 2024) exam was held on August 11 at 416 exam centres across the country. A total of 2,28,540 candidates registered for the NEET PG 2024 exam. Despite the demands of candidates to upload answer keys, the NBE declared the NEET PG results on August 23 and said that the exam content will not be made public, as per the admission policy. The NEET PG cut-off 2024 were also not disclosed along with the results.

NEET PG exam date 2024 was revised several times this year due to the RathYatra festival, allegations of paper leak, and other reasons. Mandatory time-bound sections were introduced in this year’s exam; the top court took note of the last-minute exam pattern change and called it ‘very unusual’.

The notification issued a few days before the exam informed candidates that the exam will be held in two shifts - shift 1 from 9 am to 12.30 pm and second shift from 3.30 pm to 7 pm.

Uncertainty prevailed, especially in the last three days, before the entrance exam as the admit card was issued three days before the test; the decision to adopt the normalisation method used by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) was announced a day before the exam. Moreover, the petition seeking NEET PG postponement was dismissed by the apex court on August 9, two days before the exam.

As per the latest updates, due to the absence of government counsel representing the Centre and NBEMS, the top court rescheduled the September 27 hearing to October 4. However, it was later postponed to October 25.
