NEET PG 2025 Round 2: MCC adds 135 more seats, highest in West Bengal; 218 candidates 'convert' to NRI

Download nowThe Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has added 135 postgraduate medical seats to the NEET PG round 2 counselling 2025. This is in addition to the earlier added 2,620 seats. As per the newly added seat matrix, West Bengal saw the largest addition with 46 new seats included in North Bengal Medical College.
With the addition to NMC-approved seats, the total seats available for NEET PG round 2 counselling stands at 32,215.
Following West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh received the second highest addition of 20 new seats across three medical colleges — six at Government Medical College, Shivpuri; two at Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College; and 12 at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College, Jabalpur.
In Maharashtra, all 10 seats were introduced at Government Medical College, Nandurbar. Haveri Institute of Medical Sciences in Karnataka received approval for 10 additional seats.
The MCC has again extended the NEET PG round 2 choice filling to December 13. Candidates will have time till 1 pm tomorrow to submit their preference through the official website, mcc.nic.in.
MCC approves conversion of 218 candidates to NRI
In a separate notice, the MCC announced the list of 218 candidates who have been provisionally converted from Indian to NRI category for the NEET PG round 2 counselling . The list was finalised after scrutiny of documents submitted by candidates.
The MCC clarified that the conversion is provisional and candidates should produce the original documents at the time of reporting. Failing to furnish valid documents will result in cancellation of admission by the allotted college, the committee said.
Only those candidates whose names and roll numbers are included in the NRI list of eligible candidates for round 2 will be able to view the choices available under the quota.
