The union ministry of health and family welfare had previously asked the NMC to conduct an additional mop-up round with a reduced percentile to fill vacant SS seats. FAIMA had earlier requested Mansukh Mandaviya, union health minister to reduce the eligibility criteria for the NEET SS 2021 counselling mop-up round saying that the high cut-off will prevent a huge number of doctors from meeting the cut-off criteria. According to FAIMA, the high cut-off percent will result in vacant seats and a wastage of one year for NEET SS 2022 aspirants.
