As per the NEET re-revised results 2024 , the number of NEET toppers 2024 reduced from 61 to 17 due to the controversial physics question. The NTA declared the NEET UG results on June 4, in which 67 candidates were announced as toppers. The unprecedented number of toppers was a result of grace marks awarded to 44 candidates for a physics question and 6 for time loss in the exam.

The ministry of health and family welfare earlier this year informed that a total of 1,08,940 MBBS seats are in India.
