NIFT Stage 2 situation test, interview to be held tomorrow; exam pattern

NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the situation test, studio test, interview and technical ability test for National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) admissions 2024 tomorrow. Students appealing for the NIFT Stage 2 admit card on the official website, exams.nta.ac.in/NIFT.

Candidates seeking admission into BDes (Regular), BDes (Artisan and NLEA) and BFTech (NLEA) will have to appear for the situation test, studio test and personal interview, and technical ability test, respectively. The situation and studio test will be held from 10 am to 12 noon and the interview will start at 2 pm.

Situation test

The NIFT will conduct the situation test to evaluate the candidate’s skills for material handling and innovative ability with a given set of materials. No additional material will be provided or allowed, the NIFT said. Candidate will be asked to make a model. The model will be evaluated on space visualisation, innovative and creative use of given material, composition of elements, colour scheme, construction skill, finesse of the model and overall presentation. These parameters will be checked with the write up explaining the concept behind the model constructed. The write-up will have to be in English.

Personal interview

Shortlisted candidates appearing for the personal interview (PI) will be assessed on the basis of following parameters:

  • Career orientation
  • Aptness for the course
  • Overall personal achievements in academics and cocurricular activities
  • Communication
  • General awareness and aptitude

Students will be selected for NIFT admission 2024 on the basis of CAT (50%), GAT (30), and situation test and interview (20%).
