NEW DELHI: The Rajasthan government has announced winter vacation for all schools from December 25 to January 5, 2025. The decision has been taken in view of a possible increase in the cold waves in the state. Rajasthan education minister Madan Dilawar made the announcement on social media.
“According to the warning issued by the Meteorological Department of Rajasthan state, there is a possibility of a significant increase in the intensity of cold wave in the state from December 24. Keeping this situation in mind, the Education Department of the State Government has decided according to the Academic Almanac that this year's winter vacation will be from December 25 to January 5,” the minister said in a Hindi post on X.
Recently, the union territories of Delhi and Jammu and Kashmir also announced winter breaks for all government and private schools.
In November this year, a Rajasthan district closed schools and ordered online classes for students of Classes 1 to 5 in view of air pollution in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR).
Last year too, the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) announced winter vacation in Rajasthan schools from December 25. RBSE is yet to announce the Rajasthan board exam date 2025.
