Ram Mandir Ceremony: Delhi government announces half-day holiday on January 22

Educational institutes in Haryana, Rajasthan, Assam and Tripura will also observe a half-day on the occasion 0f consecration ceremony of Lord Ram.
NEW DELHI: The Delhi government has announced a half-day holiday for its educational institutes, departments and bodies on the occasion of ‘Ram Lalla Pran Pratishtha’ at Ayodhya on January 22. The move of Delhi lieutenant-governor (l-G) comes in the backdrop of the union government’s decision to declare a half-day holiday on January 22 for employees of all its departments.
The union ministry of personnel on January 18 has released a notification announcing the half-day leave so that its employees can participate in the celebrations. Now, Delhi L-G, in a statement, said that a half-day will be in place till 2:30 pm on January 22 in all the Delhi government offices, autonomous bodies, boards, corporations, local bodies and public sector undertakings under the government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi.
The Jamia Millia Islamia University (JMI) Delhi has also announced a half-day on January 22 till 2:30 pm. The JMI added that exams, meetings and other events already scheduled on the day will be held as usual. This decision extends to the university as well as institutions, centres, offices, and schools maintained by it.
Haryana, Rajasthan, Odisha, Tripura and Assam governments have also declared an half-day holiday for all educational institutions and departments on January 22. The Uttar Pradesh government has announced a holiday for all educational institutions on the day of the consecration ceremony at the Ram temple in Ayodhya.
