SP Jain Institute of Management and Research’s LiFE programme begins from September 8; is open to women from family businesses who are above age 30.
SP Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR) is launching the third edition of its four-month long Ladies in Family Enterprise (LiFE) programme. Daughters, wives, mothers and daughters-in-law of business owners are eligible to take up the course, which is offered by the Centre for Family Business and Entrepreneurship (CFBE).
The LiFE batch will have two sessions each month on the SPJIMR campus from September 8, 2025. The limited number of classes is to ensure that the students’ personal and professional commitments are not disturbed.
The programme is specifically for women older than the age of 30, who have no previous experience in business management. They must be comfortable with English as a medium of instruction. The first three months of the course will focus on general management concepts. During the last month, students will choose one of the following electives:
- Functional specialisation to contribute directly to the family business
- New venture creation for those looking to explore entrepreneurship

Admissions will be offered on a first-come first-serve basis. Upon completion of the course, all participants will receive a certificate of participation from SPJIMR.
Sapna Vishnu, a participant of the LiFE batch-1 stated, “I doubted whether a four-month, nine-day programme could make a difference, but LiFE proved to be the perfect starting point, helping me build confidence, learn business fundamentals, and find my voice in family boardroom conversations.”
Tulsi Jayakumar, executive director, CFBE and chairperson, Post Graduate Programme in Family Managed Business (PGPFMB), said that 90% of Indian businesses are family-owned, and that women are present as ‘silent assets’.
"The ultimate goal is to build the knowledge, skills, and confidence necessary to manage a business and empower women in family enterprises ," she said.
