The offered scholarships will cover tuition fees only and eligible candidates can apply through the official website at education-russia.com.
The Russian Federation scholarships will cover several disciplines, including medicine, pharmacy, engineering, architecture, agriculture, management, economics, humanities and social sciences, mathematics, space, aviation, sports, and arts - across most universities in Russia (except Lomonosov Moscow State University and MGIMo), the official notification reads.
Select 'need to learn Russian' in application form
Indian students can apply for all levels of study , including UG, specialists, masters, PhD, and advanced training courses. A number of programmes, especially in the field of medicine, are taught in English language, the notification reads.
“Proficiency in Russian is not required. If students don’t speak Russian, they can simply select an additional option in their application about the need to learn Russian,” it added.
Notably, students are not required to have to pass tests and exams. The assessment will be based on two parameters, which includes the average grade for the diploma of the previous education, and a portfolio (scientific publications, a letter of recommendation signed by a rector or vice-rector of the Russian University chosen by the candidate), and certificates of the winner of international or national competitions such as olympiads.
Students can choose up to 6 universities in the application in priority order. However, the university will choose the student as per their selection criteria.
The selection to admission will be carried out in two stages. The primary stage constitutes document submission, cross checking, while the second stage includes distribution of selected students to universities and obtaining a visa.
“This stage is being implemented by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation in touch with Russian universities,” the notification said.
