UGC NET December 2025 registration closes today for JRF, assistant professor, PhD admissions

The NTA will open the correction facility to make changes to the UGC NET December 2025 application form between November 10 and 12.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) will close the registration portal for the UGC NET December 2025 examination today. Eligible candidates can apply for the computer-based exam through the official website at ugcnet.nta.nic.in.

The testing agency will open the correction facility to make changes to the UGC NET December 2025 application form between November 10 and 12.
Registered candidates will be able to make corrections to their personal details, academic qualification, exam city preferences and scanned photos through the UGC NET December 2025 application form correction facility.
The UGC NET December 2025 entrance test for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), appointment of assistant professor posts in universities and admission to PhD programmes will be conducted from December 31, 2025 to January 7, 2026.
The competitive exam will be held for 85 subjects.

UGC NET December 2025: Registration fee, exam pattern
According to the official website, candidates from general category should have to pay Rs 1,150 as application fee. While, those from general-Economically Weaker Section (EWS) or Other Backward Classes (OBC)- Non Creamy Layer (NCL) are required to pay Rs 600 as registration charges.
Scheduled Caste (SC), and Scheduled Tribe (ST), Person with Disability (PwD), and transgender candidates must pay Rs 325 as UGC NET December 2025 application charges.
As per the exam pattern, the UGC NET December 2025 question paper will consist of two sections - objective type and multiple-choice questions. Notably, candidates will not be allowed to take a break between the two papers.
Part 1 will have a total of 50 questions, containing 100 marks, and will assess the candidate’s teaching, research aptitude knowledge. It also tests reasoning ability, reading comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate.
While part 2 will contain 100 questions, carrying 200 marks. This is based on the subject selected by the candidate and will assess domain knowledge. There is no negative marking and candidates will be awarded two marks for each correct response.
