UP private Schools' front urged to committee forming SOPs for safe environment in unaided private school to not hassle school teacher and management.
NEW DELHI: The United Front of School Association of Uttar Pradesh has submitted a 15-point circular to the committee set up by the director, school education to form the standard operating procedures (SOP) and guidelines for the to establish a safe environment in schools.
The circular of the United Front covered subjects such as entry into schools, action to be taken during a sudden death at school premises, entry into the school and usage of mobile phones.
The circular said that in case of a sudden death on school premises they will inform the police and also maintain the sanctity of the scene. “The inquiry in such a scenario should be done by a committee of high ranking police officer, a reputed academician of the district and a member of the United Front,” it added. The FIR in such a case should be registered after the inquiry and no teacher or management member should be hassled , the front added.
The front demanded that the entry of a person except a guardian should be permitted only by the principals. They also appealed to the committee to allow them to scold teachers in case of indiscipline and to send reminders to parents regarding the fee.
Director of school education in Uttar Pradesh had set up a 10-member committee to form safety guidelines for students’ safety in unaided private schools on August 29. The committee met yesterday and discussed various issues related to the formation of the guidelines. It was set up after private schools in the state had staged protest last month.
The protests started after principal and a teacher of a private school in Azamgarh were arrested after a Class 11 student 0f Children's Girls College, Harbanspur, in Azamgarh died by suicide.
