UPSC CMS 2024 exam dates announced; paper pattern, timings

NEW DELHI: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the UPSC Combined Medical Services Examination (CMS) 2024 exam dates today, May 21. Candidates who have registered for the UPSC CMS 2024 can check the exam date and schedule on the official website of the Commission - upsc.gov.in. The UPSC CMS 2024 registration closed on April 30.
This UPSC CMS 2024 recruitment drive aims to fill up a total of 827 medical officers vacancies in different government departments. Candidates can have a look at the UPSC CMS 2024 vacancy details below.
Category I
(i) Medical officers grade in general duty medical officers sub-cadre of central health service- 163
Category II
(i) Assistant divisional medical officer in the railways - 450
(ii) General duty medical officer in New Delhi municipal council - 14
(iii) General duty medical officer Gr-II in municipal corporation of Delhi - 200
UPSC CMS 2024 exam schedule
According to the official timetable, the UPSC CMS 2024 will be conducted on July 14 in two shifts. As per the UPSC CMS 2024 exam schedule, paper I (Code No. 1) covering general medicine and paediatrics, is scheduled from 9:30 am to 11:30 am. In the afternoon session, Paper II (Code No 2) will be conducted from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, covering surgery, gynaecology and obstetrics, and Preventive and Social Medicine.

UPSC CMS 2024: Selection process
The UPSC CMS 2024 selection process includes two stages- written exam and personal interview. The written examination consists of two papers, each carrying 250 marks, making a total of 500 marks. Each paper will have a duration of two hours. Candidates who meet the qualifying criteria based on the results of the written examination will proceed to the personality test round, which carries 100 marks.
