The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted the NEET UG 2026 exam on June 21. Until 2025, the agency typically released the answer key at least 10–15 days after conducting the exam. However, for the May 3 exam, the answer key was released within three days. If the NTA follows this year's pattern, the NEET UG 2026 answer key is expected around June 25.

As per several media reports, more than 20 lakh candidates appeared for the NEET UG 2026 re-exam, with the final attendance number likely to vary by a few 100 students as biometric authentication records from centres are being consolidated, NTA Director General Abhishek Singh said. After the conduct of the re-NEET exam 2026, NTA DG said the agency is still collecting reports from exam centres. 

Candidates can calculate their probable NEET UG 2026 score using the answer key and marking scheme. Award 4 marks for each correct answer, deduct 1 mark for every incorrect response, and give 0 marks for unanswered questions. 

They must add the marks for correct answers and subtract penalties to estimate their score.

National Testing Agency, NTA is yet to announce the date and time for announcement of NEET UG 2026 results. However, following past trends, it is expected to be announced within 20 days. The exam was conducted on June 21 and result is expected to be out around July 10.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has confirmed the Re-NEET 2026 examination was conducted smoothly under enhanced security arrangements, with no major irregularities reported.

The medical examination serves as the primary gateway for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and other allied medical programmes in government and private institutions across the country. As per NTA, over 22.79 lakh MBBS aspirants appear for the re-examiantion across 551 cities in India and 14 abroad at 5,440 centres.

According to the NEET marking scheme, candidates will be awarded 4 marks for every correct response, while 1 mark is deducted for each wrong answer.

As per the feedback, the chemistry section of the Re-NEET exam was moderate in difficulty and largely NCERT-based. The section was a balanced representation of Physical, Organic, and Inorganic Chemistry. Most of the questions were noticeable from chapters such as Chemical Bonding, Coordination Compounds, Electrochemistry, Equilibrium, and Amines.

The agency is likely to publish the provisional Re-NEET 2026 answer key by June 24 on neet.nta.nic.in. Aspirants will be able to download the provisional answer key PDFs, match responses using their recorded OMR, and submit objections within the given time frame.

After the final answer key, NTA will soon issue the Re-NEET 2026 result along with scorecards, category-wise cutoffs, and topper details. The MCC-led counselling for MBBS/BDS admissions is likely to start in July, run across four to five rounds, over roughly four months.

The NTA has increased the total duration of the re-NEET UG exam to 195 minutes. The re-examination will be conducted from 2 pm to 5:15 pm, with the additional time earmarked for pre-exam formalities, including attendance verification and other mandatory procedures.

Commenting on the re-NEET UG 2026, Abhishek Singh, director at NTA, said: "When we had to cancel the exam, we had to conduct the re-exam in record time, we announced it within 37 days, to ensure students don't suffer, and academic session is not affected, we had to work a lot, but we were very lucky to get the support of all Government of India departments, all state governments, all district administration officials, almost everyone. Because of which we were able to do this such a mammoth exercise. It was a truly whole of government approach. Team Bharat came to help team NTA... There were some minor reports, with regard to people coming with wrong admit cards, people coming with some forged admit cards at few places, impersonation cases were also found out. At few places, somebody was trying to take a mobile phone, action has been taken on that because that's the purpose like when you put put frisking, when you put CCTV cameras, when you put handled metal detectors, to not allow any unfair means, so that was the whole objective and there were few people who trying to do that but they were not able to..."

According to Balvir, an MBBS aspirant from Bihar told Careers360 that the NEET UG re-exam 2026 was easy to moderate in difficulty. Physics was little time taking and filled with statement-based questions, he said.

He also told us that there was no light at the centre amid the high summer heat.

Rudra Pratap Singh, an MBBS aspirant who appeared for the re-NEET UG 2026, told Careers360 that the re-NEET UG 2026 question paper was moderate in difficulty. Biology was easy, Physics was lengthy and Chemistry was moderate, he said.

It was Singh's third attempt through self study. According to him, Physics section was lengthy and questions were concept-based and needed 3 minutes for each. 

"Biology was easy. Chemistry was moderate. Last time assertion reason type questions were not there. There time, there were a lot. In May 3 more statement based questions were there," he said.

According to the students reactions, the NEET UG 2026 re-exam question paper was moderate in difficulty. Physics and Biology were the lengthiest and toughest, while Chemistry was easy, said students.

Satakshi, an MBBS aspirant, who sat for the re-NEET UG 2026, held today from 2 pm to 5:15 pm, told Careers360 that NEET UG 2026 exam was tough, while Biology section was easy, Chemistry and Physics were tough and lengthy respectively.

"As compared to may 3 exam, phy che was tough. Bio was easy. Questions were ncert based," she said. In May 3 exam, she expected around 620 marks, she said.

A number of parents are claiming that they have not received the refund. Prashant, father of a 20-year-old aspirant, said that he checks his account daily; however, there is still no sign of the refund, Parents told Careers360. 

The NTA has concluded the NEET UG 2026 re-examination for over 22.01 lakh candidates.

NTA has provided facilities such as a 'cooling zone' for parents and guardians of students who appeared for the re-NEET UG 2026 exam.

According to PTI reports, security arrangements were put in place across the national capital for the NEET re-exam 2026, with police deploying additional personnel at examination centres to ensure the test is conducted smoothly, officials said. Senior police officers said security has been intensified around all examination venues, with strict checks being carried out at entry points. Additionally, free drinking water and refreshments were also made accessible for parents and guardians waiting outside NEET exam centres, officials added.

Once the NEET re-exam 2026 is over, several subject experts and coaching institutes will issue unofficial NEET PDF answer keys, using which students can calculate their expected scores.

NTA has begun the re-NEET UG 2026 entrance exam. 

The entry gate for re-NEET UG 2026 aspirants has closed. The re-NEET UG 2026 exam will begin at 2 pm. NTA has earlier reminded candidates that the entry gate will close at 1:30 pm sharp. 

Notably, a total of 1,38,560 CCTV cameras have been installed, with feeds monitored virtually at the national, state, and ministry levels, officials said. To secure the examination against electronic malpractice, 51,311 jammers have been deployed at the NEET exam centres.

As per the PTI report, a candidate, Kishan, appearing for the re-exam in Delhi, said security arrangements were tighter this time than during the earlier test. 

He said: "Security is tighter this time than last time. A lot has happened over the past one month. I have revised as much as I could, and now, I just want to write the exam. I only hope the exam is conducted fairly. Everyone who took that exam was under immense pressure, especially the students who were on the verge of qualifying. Personally, I wasn't making the cut as my score was around 450, but no one can truly understand the pain of those who were actually getting selected. They are the ones who suffered the most," he added.

Another NEET aspirant, Ashutosh Kumar said: "I am nervous. If paper leaks again, I won't be able to write. The extra 15 minutes will help us." Kumar also said that he hasn't received his NEET refund yet.

While talking to Careers360, NEET aspirant Mohammad Sahil Khan said: "I am totally relaxed. There's no pressure on me from my family. I just wanted to have 'Dr' in front of my name."

NTA will begin NEET UG 2026 from 2 pm and continue till 5:15 pm. 

The National Medical Commission (NMC) is planning a reform to speed up the NEET counselling process. The commission has also decided to once again allow for-profit companies to establish medical colleges. MBBS admission at both central and state levels is based on NEET scores. 

NTA will publish the provisional NEET re-exam answer keys 2026 a few days after the conduct of the MBBS entrance exam. However, students will have access to the unofficial NEET 2026 answer key code-wise shared by subject experts and coaching institutes, using which they can evaluate their expected scores. 

Based on students' feedback, the NTA has made changes in the NEET question booklet design and has added 2 more rough work sheets right after the instructions page for candidates' convenience. Previously, candidates had the option to do rough work only on the pages provided at the end of the question booklet. Under the revised measures introduced, students will have 4 rough-work pages instead of two, giving them more space for calculations, diagrams, and other workings during the re-exam.

The minister also said that while the re-exam is being held today, the pending CBSE result 2026 will also be published soon.

The entry for re-NEET 2026 test takers has begun. As per NTA guidelines, the entry gates will close sharp at 1:30 pm. 

Students appearing for the re-NEET UG 2026, as part of the enhanced security measures introduced for the re-exam, will have to complete NEET biometric verification after the frisking process and before entering the examination hall.

However, the testing agency has clarified that students will not be denied entry at the exam centre if the biometric process is not completed due to technical issues.

More than 1.4 lakh MBBS aspirants are expected to appear for the re-NEET UG 2026 in Tamil Nadu.

According to ANI reports, while talking about the NEET UG 2026 re-exam, Education minister Dharmendra Pradhan said: "I have complete faith in the NTA, all the state governments, the district administrations, the Indian education sector, and especially in India's students. Sit fearlessly, without worry, and you will definitely do well. This is my best wish to the students. They have faith in India's system and will continue to have it. May this unwavering faith remain."

He further requested the general public not to cause any hardships to students and not to do anything that would impact the mental health of the children.

"On this occasion, as a parent, as a social worker, I request you: Please do not jeopardize the future of India's new generation. Let no one make a mockery of it. Let us not do anything that will impact the mental health of the children. In a few hours, the children are going to take the exam. In the past, some so-called responsible people in India have behaved in this manner. They treated children with ulterior motives and ill intentions. If you are responsible, if you consider yourself a true citizen of India, if you represent the people of India, please take responsibility. Don't cause any further hardship or suffering to the children of India."

Based on students' feedback, NTA extended the NEET UG duration by an additional 15 minutes. NTA NEET UG 2026 exam will be held from 2 pm to 5:15 pm across the country and abroad. As per NTA, the exam duration will include time for formalities such as signing of the attendance sheet and completion of other invigilation procedures, ensuring students get enough time to complete the exam.

NEET UG 2026 | Earlier, NTA and IIT Madras justified the temporary restriction on Telegram ahead of the re-NEET examination, highlighting instances where the online platform was allegedly used to fabricate evidence of question paper leaks through edited messages carrying old timestamps.

Explaining the aim behind the Telegram app ban, NTA DG said that the step was taken to safeguard the integrity of NEET UG 2026 following the cancellation of the May 3 exam over malpractice allegations.

Currently, several videos are circulating online claiming the re-NEET UG 2026 question paper has been leaked again. However, NTA has dismissed such claims and allegations and advised students to focus on their exam. NTA has also advised students only to trust information shared on the official website and verified NTA handles. 

Notably, India has restricted access to Telegram till June 22, and its edit feature has been disabled till June 30 to curb the spread of misinformation.

A few days ago, NTA also launched a facility to report suspicious claims regarding the NEET UG 2026 paper leak ahead of the exam.

According to PTI reports, a 22-year-old NEET aspirant allegedly died by suicide at his residence in Ghaziabad district. Officials said that police recovered a video clip from his mobile phone recorded shortly before his death. As per the police, the aspirant was seen saying, "he is not under any stress related to the upcoming NEET re-examination". The student identified as Jatin Kumar was a resident of Vijay Nagar and had been preparing for NEET UG 2026, officials said.

NEET re-exam 2026 will be conducted in pen-and-paper mode from 2 pm to 5:15 pm. The entry will begin at 11 am, and the gate closing time is 1:30 pm. 

Male students appearing for the re-NEET 2026 exam can wear half-sleeved shirts and t-shirts or simple pants with pockets. 

"Candidates are strictly prohibited from carrying any electronic devices, including mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth accessories, or any communication device, inside the examination hall," the official NTA notice said. 

The dress code and list of prohibited items for female candidates appearing for the re-NEET 2026 are listed below.

• Female students are not allowed to wear brooches, flowers, badges, or jeans with prints.
• Ornaments such as earrings, nose rings, pendants, necklaces, etc., are strictly prohibited.
• Kurtis, leggings, and palazzos should be avoided.
• Slippers or low heels should be preferred. However, candidates wearing high-heeled footwear will be subjected to additional checks. 

NTA has clarified that the candidate from Nagpur who was allotted a NEET exam centre in Abu Dhabi had given preference to Nagpur, Wardha, and Bhandara centres for the examination. However, NTA said that after receiving a request for a change of exam centre was accepted and the centre change was processed.

For the General category, the qualifying benchmark is expected to remain at the 50th percentile, with the cut-off likely to be around 165 marks. For General-PwD candidates, the qualifying benchmark is expected to be the 45th percentile, with the cut-off estimated at around 140 marks. These figures are provisional and may vary when the official qualifying marks are announced.

The Re-NEET UG 2026 examination will consist of 180 questions in total. Physics and Chemistry will carry 45 questions each, while Biology will have 90 questions. Candidates will be required to attempt questions from all three subjects during the examination.

Candidates must carry their admit card along with a valid photo identity proof and report to the examination centre well before the reporting deadline. They should wear simple attire and strictly follow the instructions issued by NTA. Electronic gadgets such as mobile phones, smartwatches and calculators, as well as study material and other prohibited items, are not allowed inside the examination venue. Jewellery, belts, caps and garments with large pockets should also be avoided.

Male candidates are advised to wear simple, light-coloured half-sleeved shirts or T-shirts paired with plain trousers. Clothing with heavy embroidery, large buttons, metallic accessories or badges should be avoided. Only slippers or sandals with thin soles are permitted inside the examination centre. Candidates appearing in customary or religious attire should arrive well in advance for additional security screening.

Under the prescribed marking scheme, every correct answer carries four marks. One mark will be deducted for each incorrect response, while unanswered questions will not attract any marks or penalty.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will administer the Re-NEET examination 2026 in more than 95,000 examination rooms, and each room will be equipped with CCTV. Around 1,38,560 CCTV cameras and 51,311 jammers have been installed at the national level.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will administer the Re-NEET UG 2026 examination tomorrow across 5,440 centres in 551 cities in India and 14 centres abroad for over 22 lakh candidates. The re-examination will be held in English and 12 Indian languages.

NTA has arranged drinking water, ORS, ambulances, shaded waiting areas for parents, wall clocks in every examination room and additional rough sheets, including for left-handed candidates.

NTA has deployed 38,795 frisking staff, 48,448 biometric personnel and face authentication systems for candidate verification. Around 6,700 observers and over 100 virtual observers will oversee the examination process.

Two invigilators will be present in every examination room, with more than 10 functionaries assigned at each centre. On average, 40-50 security personnel will be deployed per centre.

In the latest tweet of NTA, they mentioned that more than 95,000 exam rooms have been equipped with CCTV coverage, while 1.38 million CCTV cameras will be monitored live at national, state and ministry levels. AI-based monitoring of CCTV feeds and 51,311 jammers have also been deployed.

An 18-year-old NEET aspirant from Nagpur, Abdullah Mohammad Talib, was shocked after his NEET UG 2026 re-exam admit card showed his exam centre in Abu Dhabi instead of Maharashtra. The mistake caused concern as the exam was only a few days away.

Candidates should reach their NEET UG 2026 exam centre between 11 am and 1:30 pm. The entry gate will close at 1:30 PM, and no one will be allowed to enter after that. Carry a printed admit card, a postcard-size photograph, and a valid photo ID. Candidates should wear light-coloured half-sleeved clothes and slippers or open sandals as per the dress code.

The NTA has asked candidates to carry the NEET revised admit card issued for the NEET UG 2026 re-exam.

• If you have already downloaded the NEET revised admit card, you do not need to download it again.
• The May 3 admit card is not valid because many exam centres have been changed.
• Check your NEET exam centre, reporting time, and roll number carefully on the revised admit card before the exam.

The NEET UG 2026 re-exam will be conducted tomorrow, June 21, from 2 pm to 5:15 pm in offline (pen-and-paper) mode. For PwD/PwBD candidates, the re-NEET exam will begin at 2 pm and conclude at 6:20 pm, with eligible candidates receiving 1 hour and 5 minutes of compensatory time as per NTA guidelines.
