NEET UG 2026: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has concluded the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2026 for more than 22.79 lakh MBBS aspirants across 551 cities in India and 14 abroad at 5,440 centres. NTA allotted 15 minutes extra for NEET aspirants to ensure they have enough time to complete the test and all mandatory formalities, such as signing of attendance sheets and other invigilation procedures. Students appearing for the re-exam had to carry their admit card, 2 passport-size photographs and valid photo ID to the NEET exam centre 2026 for verification purposes.
Cautioning candidates against fraudulent messages and rumours regarding the re-NEET UG, the NTA earlier urged them to download their admit cards from the official website at neet.nta.nic.in only using their login credentials.
Over 22 lakh candidates appeared for the pen-and-paper-based re-NEET UG exam for admission to MBBS, BDS and AYUSH programmes.
NEET UG 2026 was originally scheduled for May 3. However, due to allegations of MBBS question paper leak, NTA cancelled the college admission test on May 12. Currently, the investigation into the NEET UG 2026 paper leak case is being held by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

The re-NEET UG 2026 was held in a single shift from 2 pm to 5:15 pm. The testing agency had advised candidates to reach their respective exam centre in advance and to carry their NEET UG 2026 admit card, identity proof document such as Aadhaar, PAN or any other government ID proof, along with a passport-size photograph.
In an attempt to secure the sanctity of the re-NEET UG 2026, the government has banned the messaging app Telegram until June 21. Moreover, it also issued guidelines for candidates regarding dress code, permissible items, and biometric verifications.
Students can download unofficial answer keys accessible online, shared by subject experts and coaching institutes, using which they can evaluate their responses. Re-NEET 2026 provisional answer keys will be issued by NTA, a few days after the conduct of the exam.
As per the marking scheme, candidates will be given 4 marks for each correct answer, while one mark will be deducted for wrong responses. No marks will be awarded for unanswered questions.
Students who appeared for the re-NEET 2026 will have access to the question paper with solutions for all codes, a PDF shared by subject experts and coaching institutes online. MBBS aspirants can evaluate their responses entered and calculate their expected scores once they have access to the NEET 2026 question paper with solutions.
The NEET question paper with solutions will provide detailed solutions for all PCB questions. The NEET UG 2026 question paper will contain 180 questions from physics, chemistry, and biology, carrying a total of 720 marks.

I only hope the exam is conducted fairly. Everyone who took that exam was under immense pressure, especially the students who were on the verge of qualifying. Personally, I wasn't making the cut as my score was around 450, but no one can truly understand the pain of those who were actually getting selected. They are the ones who suffered the most," he added.

The union education minister Pradhan, who spoke at a yoga event at Delhi University, said he has faith in the National Testing Agency (NTA), state governments, district administrations, the education fraternity, and the students. Pradhan appealed to people not to do anything that could affect students' mental health.
"Today, around 22 lakh students are going to sit for NEET after a short while. They should sit fearlessly and free of anxiety. They will certainly do well. My many good wishes to the students."
The minister also said that while the re-exam is being held today, the pending CBSE result 2026 will also be published soon.

According to ANI reports, while talking about the NEET UG 2026 re-exam, Education minister Dharmendra Pradhan said: "I have complete faith in the NTA, all the state governments, the district administrations, the Indian education sector, and especially in India's students. Currently, several videos are circulating online claiming the re-NEET UG 2026 question paper has been leaked again. However, NTA has dismissed such claims and allegations and advised students to focus on their exam. NTA has also advised students only to trust information shared on the official website and verified NTA handles.
Notably, India has restricted access to Telegram till June 22, and its edit feature has been disabled till June 30 to curb the spread of misinformation.

Officials said that police recovered a video clip from his mobile phone recorded shortly before his death.
