UPTET 2020 unlikely to be held this year- Know all details about the exam

NEW DELHI: The air regarding the date of conducting Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test-UPTET 2020 exam was recently cleared by Anil Bhushan Chaturvedi, Secretary, Examination Controller. With the delay in the issuance of UPTET exam notification due to COVID 19 pandemic, Chaturvedi stated that it is not possible to hold the exam this year and they require at least three months of time to conduct the exam. Therefore in all probability, UPTET 2020 exam will be conducted in 2021.
Earlier, it was expected that the authorities will release the UPTET 2020 notification anytime soon. The exam conducting body had also sent a proposal to concerned authorities regarding the exam. No decision has been made on the proposal yet.

About UPTET Exam
UPTET exam is conducted every year to determine the eligibility of the candidates as Teachers in classes 1 to 8 in the government schools in the state of Uttar Pradesh. There are 2 papers in UPTET - paper I for those who wish to become teachers in classes 1 to 5 and Paper II for candidates who wish to become teachers of classes 6 to 8.
Recently, the UP government had issued appointment letters to more than 31,000 teachers after counselling and verification of documents.
