UPESSC: The overall attendance of Day 3 of the UPTET 2026 exam stood at 93.01%, of whom 92.70% were female and 93.36% were male candidates
The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) conducted Day 3 of the Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET 2026) in two shifts at 955 exam centers across 60 districts. A total of 7,51,321 candidates appeared for the UPTET 2026 day 3 exam, marking the overall attendance at 93.01%. Also, 11 impersonators and one candidate were caught using unfair means.
According to the official UPESSC press release, a total of 807,709 candidates were registered for both shifts, of whom 7,51,321 appeared. The UPTET 2026 overall attendance of the female candidates was 92.70%, while male candidates' attendance was recorded at 93.36%.
UPTET 2026 first shift exam was held for upper primary level from 9:30 am to 12 pm, and the second shift for the primary level was from 2:30 pm to 5 pm.
UPTET 2026: 11 impersonators caught
According to a Press Trust of India report, eleven impersonators and one candidate were caught using unfair means, an official said. The commission’s chairman Prashant Kumar said all exam centres were monitored through an AI-integrated control and command centre and AI-enabled cameras.
During the first shift, nine impersonators appearing in place of registered candidates and one candidate who allegedly concealed a mobile phone inside his shoe were caught. In the second shift, two more impersonators were apprehended. All were handed over to the local police for legal action.
Moreover, several candidates appearing for the UP teacher's eligibility exam could not reach the UP TET exam centres due to congestion caused by BJP vice-president Durvijay Singh Shakya's roadshow.
As students voiced their anger and the opposition SP accused the government of putting their future at risk, the district administration acknowledged the incident and said it would seek the state government's approval to allow the affected students to retake the examination.
When asked whether permission had been obtained for the roadshow, the district magistrate Avinash Kumar Rai said that no such approval had been sought.

The activities of the UP TET 2026 exam test-takers were constantly monitored through AI cameras installed at the centres, and necessary instructions were also given.
The three-day UPTET 2026 exam is being conducted in five shifts from July 2 to 4. The final shift will be held on Saturday under AI-based monitoring and enhanced security arrangements, he added.
