11 Mumbai public schools get CBSE affiliation, announces Aditya Thackeray

Mumbai municipal schools will also seek affiliation to ICSE and international boards, the Shiv Sena leader said.
NEW DELHI: Eleven Mumbai public schools of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) have received affiliation from the Central Board of Secondary Education, tweeted Aditya Uddhav Thackeray, minister of tourism and environment of Maharashtra. MPS Chikuwadi, MPS Jankalyan Nagar, MPS Pratiksha Nagar, MPS Poonam Nagar, and MPS Aziz Baug are among the schools that received the CBSE affiliation.
“This news is truly wonderful as it further strengthens our dream to provide quality education in BMC schools,” said Thackeray.

Thackeray further congratulated the BMC education department for its efforts towards acquiring the affiliation. He also expressed gratitude towards the CBSE board and Manoj Ahuja, the chairman of CBSE.
As we now work with SSC, CBSE boards in BMC, we also look forward to working with ICSE, Cambridge, and IB boards to provide a variety of quality, free education for every child learning in the BMC school.

The BMC schools were affiliated to the Maharashtra SSC (Secondary School Certificate) Board and CBSE. Thackeray said that the Maharashtra government is moving more schools toward the Council of Indian School Certificate Examinations (ICSE and ISC board), Cambridge and International Baccalaureate (IB) boards.

“We want the boards providing education in BMC to provide quality education, impart a spirit of learning in the children, and give importance to the learning of Marathi language. The education system should promote the overall development of a child so that they can dream big,” said Thackeray.
