UGC has also released a new academic calendar for 2021-22 session and guidelines for admission to higher educational institutions. As per the calendar, the admission process for undergraduate and postgraduate courses shall be completed by September 30 and the classes shall start from October 1.
University of Delhi on Saturday has announced its admission process for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The DU admission to UG programmes will be based on merit, whereas the admission to PG will be done with the help of Delhi University Entrance Test (DUET) to be conducted by NTA. Other central universities like Aligarh Muslim University, Jamia Millia Islmia, University of Hyerdabad have already started their application process and announced that they will offer admission to the students based on their own entrance test.
Last year, in the month of December UGC had created a 7-member committee to inquire about the procedures of CUCET for admission to all the UG programmes offered by central universities as recommended by the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The committee suggested that the National Testing Agency should conduct the Central Universities Common Entrance Test twice a year in computer based mode. Besides this, the committee had also proposed to create a one common application platform for admission to all 41 central universities.
